“You’re Pawsome” Card created with Spellbinders “3D Vignette Pet House” by Becca Feeken

The card featured in this blog is from the new “3-D Vignettes” collection by Becca Feeken. The 3-D Pet House die set is super adorable! I thought about all of the different ways that this die set could be used to create a card … you could use it as a regular die on the front of a card or use it to create a fun 3-D card, however, for this card, I was inspired to turn this pet house into a shaker card.

As soon as I saw this die set, I knew that it would make a super cute shaker card. I started by cutting out the pieces for the shaker using the dies. I used the largest solid die with the tabs to cut out a piece for the back of the shaker from some brown paw print tone-on-tone patterned paper. I love the intricate details on the die for the front of the pet house and I decided to use this brown paw print paper to cut out the front of the dog house and shaker. It looks like woodgrain and I thought it was the perfect paper to create the dog house.

Next, I cut out the smaller solid shape from blue cardstock to create a background for the shaker. Then, I used the same die and a piece of acetate to go behind the shaker window.

For the roof of the house, I used brown cardstock and then used the decorative edge die and cut several pieces from blue and yellow cardstock.

This is an A2 size card (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) and I decided to use a fun plaid patterned paper for the card base. I also used the dies included in this die set to create the card sentiment “You’re Pawesome”, the bone and the dog bowl. I fussy cut the blue heart and the dog from patterned paper included in the DCWV Playful pets 8×8 paper pad.

To create the shaker, I first trimmed the acetate piece to be slightly smaller to the front panel of the pet house and then adhered these to pieces together using Bearly Art glue. I then added narrow strips of foam tape to create the dimension which also gives me a place to add the sequins. I glued on some of the sequins to the back panel so that there will always be sequins sprinkled across the back of the shaker.

It was a lot of fun adding in all the different sequins. I used the blue sequins from the Spellbinders November card kit along with gold stars, small gold rings and then sprinkled in a few yellow and orange flowers. I think this card turned out super cute!!!

I hope I’ve given you some inspiration for how you can use the new dies from “3-D Vignette Pet House” to create cards for someone special. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog.
