The January Glimmer Hot Foil kit is gorgeous and I’m just obsessed with the floral heart glimmer hot plate so I wanted to make that floral heart the focal point for this card.
I started out by using the floral heart glimmer hot plate, gold foil and white cardstock to create the heart. I used the coordinating heart die to cut out my foiled heart. I knew that this was going to be the focal point and I wanted to make that gold foil shine even more, so I backed the heart with some gold mirror card and fussy cut around it leaving a gold outline around the heart.
Next, I cut out some leaves and flowers using the dies that came in the kit in pink and green cardstock and also the gold mirror card.
I covered the card base with pink card stock and then added 4 more card layers in white cardstock. I used a few of the patterned papers from the Spellbinders January 2022 Card Kit of the month. I wanted to add a little more dimension to my card, so I added several layers of a light weight cardstock to the back of a mint green patterned paper. This gives a nice bit of dimension without making the card too bulky and is a great alternative to using foam. I layered the mint green on top of a pink gingham.
Once I had all my layers on the card base, I added the flowers to the top and bottom of the card. I also wanted to added more dimension to the floral heart and popped it up by adding layers of cardstock under it.
To add just a finishing touches to make the card sparkle even more, I used a wink of stella clear marker which I touched to red cardstock and then painted the flowers on the heart. This gave the flowers a soft pink sparkle which was super pretty. I added a gold flower on the top of the heart and one of the glitter foam banner greetings with the sentiment “True Friendship” and this card was complete.
Here are some closeups.
And, here’s a full picture of the card.
I hope I’ve given you some inspiration for how you can use the new glimmers hot foil kit from Spellbinders to create cards that sparkle.
