“Celebrating Love” Card created with new Spellbinders January 2022 Card Kit
I’m so excited to be included in the Spellbinders Design Team for 2022 and I choose to design with 3 of the club kits. I started off by doing a kit share and a little organizing, so if you’d like to watch the video, click here.
For my first card, I wanted to showcase the stunning card kit for January 2022. It’s called Truly, Madly, Deeply and I’m just so in love with this kit.
There were so many things in the kit, it was hard to choose where to start, so I decided to look through the die cuts for inspiration and decided to start with a card with a scallop edge, a die with the word love in gold foil and a large floral piece with gold accents.
I love all of the gold foiling in the die cuts and the paper and I wanted to play that up more and so I used some of the gold mirror card (also included in the kit) to mat the LOVE die cut and I also cut a narrow piece of foil to use as a border strip.
Next up was to select some paper to use as card layers and I picked out 3 papers from the 6×6 paper pad (a light blue diamond pattern, a pink ombre, and a pink paper with gold foil polka dots). I cut the papers in different size panels and then layered the papers onto the front of a 5 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ card base.
Once I had all the card base put together, I added the gold border strip and then layered the die cuts onto the front of the card. I used some foam squares and added the “love” die cut onto the little card that had the scallop edge. I wanted to have flowers on both sides of the love die cut, so I fussy cut one of the flowers from the floral piece and added it to the left side of the card and the remaining flowers to the right. I also popped up the blue and gold circle with some foam squares and added the “celebrating love” sentiment.
To finish off this card and add a little more sparkle, I added three gold glitter hearts from the kit. This was a very quick and easy card to create but I think it’s super pretty with the pastel colors and gold foiling.
Here are some closeups.
And, here’s a full picture of the card.
I hope I’ve given you some inspiration for how you can use the new card kit from Spellbinders to create simple yet beautiful cards.
