Calvinball 2019 Day 18 – "Friends are Like Stars" Layout

On Day 18 of CalvinBall 2019, I created this layout.  WooHoo!!!! I finally made it to 40 points for one layout.  Some of my points were scored by using a doily, a Llama and a quote (which are 3 things I hadn’t managed to do in my previous layouts).
This layout started with the mixed media background in lavender, pink and gold.  I used a bright floral and plaid patterned paper to frame the mixed media background and then a scrap piece of light green paper to create a mat for my photo.  All of the papers came from Recollection paper pads that I got at Michaels.
For the title, I used Gold and Pink Thickers to spell out “FRIENDS” and “STARS” and smaller gold stickers to spell “are like”.   Chipboard embellishment are from Maggie Holmes.

The picture used in this layout is one from 2002 and it’s a picture of me and my two friends Marilu & Amita.  We all met while working for Shell Oil Company … we immediately hit it off and have been good friends for over 22 years.
