LOAD 5-19 Day 8 – You + Me

For LOAD 519 Day 8, the LOAD prompt was about manners or using words like Please, Thank You, etc.  I really couldn’t think of anything that I wanted to do for the Day 8 Load Prompt, so I went “off Prompt” again.  I really had a lot of fun hand stitching on my background in the last layout, so I decided to do some more stitching. I had a floral paper piercing template from Fiskars that I recently purchased from JoAnn.com and I used it to create some flowers on my background.
For my background, I used another page from the Recollections Sunset Breeze paper pad.  I love this paper pad and this is my third layout in a row where I used paper from this paper pad for my background.  I used some left over paper scraps from Sunset Breeze to mat my photos.

I stitched around the design with the chain stitch with embroidery floss in green, blue, pink, yellow and lavender embroidery.  I stitched around all the stems and leaves in first.  I thought I would leave the stems and leaves plain and not add any sequins, but  I had wanted to randomly add sequins while stitching around the flowers.  By the time I got to stitching the flowers, I completely forgot about the sequins.  This may have been a happy accident because I decided to glue the sequins in the middle of the flowers.  I just love how the sequins added so much sparkle to the flowers … they are so pretty!!!

I cut down my background from 12×12 to 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 and then added a striped black and aqua paper from the Recollections Midnight Garden paper pad.  I also used strips from the Midnight Garden paper pad and added a border across the bottom of the layout.  

I added some black and white stickers, “You + Me” as my title and “Collect Moments not things!” which came from the Maggie Holmes Sunny Days cardstock stickers. I decided I wanted to add some journaling which would also play up the black and white title.  I typed up my journaling on the computer and then printed it on some cardstock.  I cut up the journaling into strips and added it to the top left corner of my layout.

Here’s a full picture of my layout for LOAD 519 Day 7.  The picture used in this layout was taken in my craft room in April 2019.  My friend Tina, my Mom and I were in my Craft Room doing some crafting things.  I was showing Tina the beautiful basket of goodies that my Mom and given me for my birthday and she kindly offered to take a picture of me and my Mom.  I just love this picture of me and my Mom.
