LOAD 5-19 Day 4 – Adventure Awaits

For LOAD 519 Day 4, the LOAD prompt was to create a layout about something that turned out better than expected or use green/gold in your layout.  I couldn’t figure out what to use for the story prompt that I had pictures for so I decided to go for the color scheme and do a layout using green and gold.
This layout features paper from a paper pad I bought from Michaels a few years ago.  The paper pad is by Craft Smith and is called Seaglass.  The papers in this pad are textured and almost feel like fabric.  I couldn’t believe it was a Hot Buy paper pad and since Michael’s had the paper pads on sale for $5.00, I couldn’t resist buying two.  So glad that I bought two, because the papers are so beautiful and I’ve never seen the paper pad in Michaels since I bought it.  Sometimes you just gotta buy it, because if you don’t you may never have the chance again.  Michael’s recently had a 6×6 Craft Smith Seaglass paper pad but the paper was not textured.

I love fussy cutting and any time I can find something to cut out in a paper pad, it makes me happy.  I cut out around the flowers and leaves on  a border strip from the paper pad.  I also cut out some additional flowers and leaves that I popped up on foam dots.  I took another border strip from the paper pad and cut around the leaves and flowers to create the border on the bottom of the page.
All of the banners, circles, and other paper embellishments on this page were cut out from the paper pad.  I used two gold washi tapes (one a floral and the other gold dots) as border strips in the middle and bottom of the layout and around the banner at the top of the page.

I wanted to add some twine to my tag and I had some left over rope that came off of some solar yard lights.  I thought it gave a lot of texture to my layout and added a nautical feel, so I knotted up a couple of small pieces and added it to my other two embellishment clusters.
For my title, I used a gold foam thicker Adventure word.  I then added some wood veneer, stickers from the Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection sticker pack.  A few enamel star fish and some gold bling enamel heart and dots finished off my layout.
Here’s a full picture of my layout for LOAD 519 Day 4.  The pictures in this layout are from a cruise that I went on with my Mom and my sister Jeannie in February.
