LOAD 5-19 Day 19 – Amazing Sushi

For LOAD 519 Day 19,  the LOAD prompt was to do a layout about food or use florals so I did a second layout with food as the focus.  Mom, Terri and I went to lunch at Sogo Japanese Restaurant.  It was my first time at Sogo and the Sushi was amazing.  Mom and shared the Lacombe roll and some dumplings.  Terri got the Hibachi lunch with salad and Miso soup and we got some Calamari as an appetizer.  Everything was wonderful.

Definitely looking forward to going back and trying out some of the other Sushi rolls.

For this layout, I planned to use a page kit that I got on a recent trip to Hobby Lobby with my friend Judy.  Hobby Lobby had a ton of stuff on clearance and they had some of the page kits for $2.49.  One of the page kits that I bought was from Photo Play called Paper Crane.  It has some really awesome papers and there was even some sushi stickers so I thought it would be perfect for layout about eating out at a Japanese Restaurant.

There was a pink patterned paper in the Paper Crane collection but it was darker than I wanted for my background.  So, for the background paper, I used the “B” side of the “Songbird” paper from the Maggie Holmes Flourish collection.  The birds were really pretty and I almost didn’t use the paper for my background, but sometimes you just have to choose a side to use and let go of the other side of the paper.

I didn’t think about taking any pictures until we had finished eating, so the photos are Soho pictures which represent the food we had for lunch.  I’m learning to scrapbook the memory even if I don’t have photos to scrap.

Here’s a full picture of my second layout for LOAD 519 Day 20.
