Scrap Our Stash | September “Pick Your Side” Sketch Challenge | Happy Day

This layout was created for the Scrap Our Stash September “Pick Your Side” Sketch Challenge.  If you are interested in participating in this September “Pick Your Side” sketch challenge head on over to the Scrap Our Stash Blog.

For this challenge, create a layout based on either the left or right side of the sketch and you must use a banner/pennants on your layout.  The sketch for this challenge is shown below.

I selected the right side of the sketch and then flipped the sketch so that my banner was at the bottom. I love banners and it’s so much fun to take scraps of paper and make a colorful banner.

I went through some of my paper and collections and found a page kit from Carta Bella called Flora No. 1. There were some beautiful florals in this kit and I found an awesome tone on tone pink paper to use as my background.

The pictures in this layout are from 2017 when my Mom and I went to lunch at Mary Mahoney’s Old French House restaurant in Biloxi, MS. It was an amazing experience and the food and service was excellent. As we were leaving, we stopped to take pictures in the courtyard and next to the 2,000 year old tree called the “Patriarch”. The tree was incredible and was probably the largest oak tree we had ever seen … it was absolutely beautiful.

Here are some close ups of the layout.

And, here is a picture of the finished layout.

I hope I’ve inspired you to join in on this month’s challenge at. For more inspiration, go over to Scrap Our Stash Blog and check out the other Design Team Member layouts for this month’s challenges.
