"Scrap-A-Thon 3" Day 2 – Squares Scrapbook Layout
It’s Day 2 of the Scrap-A-Thon 3 with Nicole Jones 911 and it’s all about squares. After I watched the video of the day, I made this layout. I would never have thought to tilt one or more of the squares. I love watching other people scrapbook because I learn so much and it helps me to think “out of the box” of what is typical for me.
Ok, so since Day 2 challenge was squares, I went on the hunt for a 4×4 photo and found a cute summer pic of my nephew and two nieces. Next, I went through my page kits and found one that had a summer theme. In the page kit, I only had two papers, so next step was to go through my stash to find a few more papers for the square on square design.
I ended up choosing the papers shown below …

Navy Blue Pattern from Recollections – Let’s Get Lost Paper Pad
Floral from Bella Blvd – Popsicles and Pandas
Solid Pink from Doodle Bug – Nifty Notions – Flower Patch (B Side)
The scrapbook layout was too use a 10″ square on top of the 12×12 paper, then an 8″ square, then a 6″ square and the 4×4″ photo. As I was putting this page together, I felt that there was too much of the navy and I added the green square. My layout has an 11′ square, 10″ square, 8″ square, 6″ square and then the 4×4″ picture.
The title Summer Adventure, flip flops, beach ball came from the Crate Paper’s Pool Play 12×12 Chipboard stickers.
I love the challenge of the various layouts and trying scrapbooking layouts that I’ve never done before. I’m finding that once I do them, I get another tool to add to my scrapbooking tool belt.
Two layouts done in two days and 29 Days to go!!!!
