"Scrap-A-Thon 3" Day 9 – Sketch Scrapbook Layout
It’s Day 9 of the Scrap-A-Thon 3 with Nicole Jones 911 and for this day we needed to use a sketch to create a scrapbook layout. I don’t usually use a sketch but I have to say it made the process a lot easier because I already had the placement of the major elements which really cut down on the time it took to decide the layout.
I had a bunch of small 2.5×2.5 photos and I wanted to use 4 or 5 of them, so I went looking for a sketch. NicoleJones911 had mentioned in one of her YouTube videos about a freebie from Laura Whitaker called Stuck Sketches Sketchbook. Laura has retired by her blog is still available and you can download a copy of her Sketchbook here. I found the sketch below in Stuck Sketches and decided to give it a try.
I used white cardstock for the background and layered some strips of patterned paper from the Echo Park “Go See Explore” Collection by Lori Whitlock. I had both the page kit and the ephemera which made things much easier because I had paper and embellishments that matched.
Two of my favorite things on the page are the border strip I cut from one of the patterned papers and the suitcase.
The pictures used in this layout are from a trip that we took to Las Vegas in 2015 to celebrate my sister Terri’s 50th birthday. These are selfies that Terri, Mom and I took on the plane during our flight.
