Scrap Our Stash | October “Pick a Side” Sketch Challenge | Doggie Kisses

This double layout was created for the Scrap Our Stash October “Pick a Side” Sketch Challenge.  If you are interested in participating in this month’s “Pick a Side” sketch challenge head on over to the Scrap Our Stash Blog.

For this challenge, create a one or two page layout inspired by the sketch and also be sure to include twine, a tag and a tab.  The sketch for this challenge is shown below.

I decided to do both the right and left sides and create a double layout because I had so many cute pictures of my dog Bella giving doggie kisses to me and my sister, Terri. I loved both sides and thought that these sketches would be perfect for this series of pictures.

For this layout, I decided to use some paper from the DCWV Playful Pets collection. I also used some paper that was left over from another layout that came from the PhotoPlay Fetch collection. I really love both of these collections especially the navy paper with the words from Playful Pets . The background is a tan cardstock. The title “DOGGIE KISSES” comes from a pack of yellow thickers and some aqua block letters.

I added a craft tag to the left side and created a tag from the red polka dot paper using the Stampin Up Tag punch for the right side. I added some aqua and white twine to both tags. A gold dog paper clip, a few word stickers and some enamel dots in yellow, red and aqua finish off this layout. Here are some close ups.

Here’s a full picture of my layout.

I hope I’ve inspired you to join in on this month’s challenge at. For more inspiration, go over to Scrap Our Stash Blog and check out the other Design Team Member layouts for this month’s challenges.

  1. Thank you for the process video. Your layout is simply adorable. The dog themed papers and embellishments are so cute I can’t help but smile looking at the end product. I must say that i’m jealous of all the tools you have. I’m going to see if I can find that paw print, and tag, punch. I love those. The WE R cutting guides are quite neat as well. Beautiful work. TFS.

    1. Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. I thought I would just share this info with you since you are thinking about the Stampin Up Tag punches. … I love the Stampin Up tag topper punches and the Stampin Up punches are very high quality. The one downside is that the Stampin Up tag punch only punches 2″ tags. My friend recently bought a punch from Hobby Lobby that is similar to the Stampin Up Tag punch but it punches 1 1/2″, 2″ and 2 1/2″ tags all with the same punch.

      1. Unfortunately, we do not have Hobby Lobby stores here in Canada. The only place I can buy scrapbook supplies, besides on-line, is at Michaels. All other scrapbook stores have long gone out of business. In a way, it’s a good thing. It keeps my spending at a minimum, and I get to use what I already have. I love using tags on my layouts so I will splurge on the Stampin’Up punch. I say “splurge” because it’s $31.00 Canadian + shipping. Expensive, but I know that their products are good quality.

      2. I do miss the smaller specialty scrapbook stores (because most of those have gone out of business in the U.S. as well). But we are very lucky to have the bigger craft stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels and JoAnns. Wow … that’s pricey even for Stampin Up but they do have very good quality punches and the tag punches are so awesome to have available to make quick tags. Any scrap of paper that I have that is two inches ends up as a tag and using the punch is so easy. Hope you enjoy your punch!
