I can’t believe it’s been over a year since my last post. I’ve had a very tough and stressful year in 2018 as I attempted to renovate my home and things did not go well with the contractor. As the time went by and I didn’t post, it got harder and harder to get back to creating and doing crafty things. I did manage to do some crafty things last year and I wanted to share them.
This first project goes all the way back to before Christmas 2017 when I made some embroidered Christmas cards and bookmarks for my family. These were all Anita Goodesigns embroidery designs and I used my Brother Quattro embroidery machine. These are super easy projects. The cards were made from the Embroidered Holiday Cards.
These papers are designed for cardstock. Using a tear-away stabilizer and a heavy cardstock, these made really beautiful Christmas cards. The Snowman was my favorite and is pictured below.
I also made embroidered bookmarks “In-The-Hoop” designs from Anita Goodesign called Mylar Bookmarks. “In the Hoop” means that the bookmark from start to finish is completely done in the hoop on the embroidery machine (no hand work involved). The mylar is a very thin film that comes in a variety of colors and finishes. I purchased my Mylar from Heirlooms by Sharon. It gives a really beautiful shine to the bookmarks and was so much fun to work with.
I really had a lot of fun making these for my family for Christmas. I think I made about 20 of these bookmarks and below are a few of my favorites.
In 2018, I made cards to mail to friends and family but I didn’t really document the process, but I do have some pictures of completed cards. I also began focusing more of my creative time on scrapbooking.
I will share in my few next posts some of the many card projects that I worked on in 2018 and also some of my scrapbook layouts. I’m hoping this year that I will be able to once again focus more of my time on blogging about PaperCrafting because I truly enjoy sharing my love for Papercrafting with others.
